ECHO Program Organization

As seen in Figure 1, the Program comprises two related efforts: The ECHO Cohort Consortium and the ECHO IDeA States Pediatric Clinical Trials Network (ISPCTN). Each is led by a Steering Committee that comprises investigators who have won competitive ECHO awards. Those committees oversee scientific issues, thus empowering independent investigators to drive ECHO science.

The NIH ECHO Program Office sets scientific and collaborative vision, ensures that components adhere to NIH policies, provides funding, and facilitates researcher collaboration so that the ECHO whole is more than the sum of the parts. Given its role in ensuring maximum return on taxpayer investment, the NIH reserves the right to make final decisions on any ECHO matter.
